SPORT HORSE BREEDING OF GREAT BRITAIN

£8 of the entry fee in the RIHS Qualifying Classes will be given to Hickstead.

All the Hunter Classes will be judged under SHB (GB) Rules. All entries in the Hunter Classes must be registered with SHB (GB). Only horses registered on the 2011 Show Hunter Register are eligible for entry in the Qualifying Classes 18-24 & 31.
Day tickets can be purchased for qualifying classes at £12 per day, maximum of Three tickets per horse. Horses are required to be on SHB(GB) basic id. Registration numbers must be quoted on the entry form & owners must be members of the SHB (GB). Other than the classes stipulated below, all classes are qualifiers for the RIHS for which the 1st & 2nd placed horses only qualify. Classes 19-22 are also qualifiers for the National Hunter Supreme Championship Show and the 1st three only will qualify. Does not pass down the line.

No horse may be entered in both a Ridden Hunter and Ridden Hack or Riding Horse Class at the same show. This does not apply to Working Hunter and Ridden Sport Horse classes.

Amateur Rider Classes 23 & 24 The 1st three placed horses will qualify for the RIHS – A person is an amateur for horse showing purposes, when showing ridden in an amateur class, if he or she does not:
1) Engage in breeding, livery, buying, selling, dealing or hiring horses as a means of deriving a main source of income since 1st January 2010
2) Accept remuneration for employment in connection with horses in a racing, showing or livery stable or riding school. (Instruction at Pony Club and Riding Club excepted) since 1st January 2010.
3) Show a horse owned or sponsored by a company or commercial firm, or a horse for which his or her immediate family accepts livery or training charges from a person outside the immediate family concerned since 1st January 2010.
4) Show a horse which a professional rider has qualified in the weight or Small Ridden Hunter Classes for either the HOYS or RIHS during the current year unless the horse has subsequently been re-registered under new ownership
5) Professional show persons must not enter the Amateur Ring whilst the classes are in progress
6) A professional rider must not ride or exercise an amateur’s horse on the day it is competing in amateur classes.
CLASSES 25,,28, 29 are not affiliated to the SHB (GB) and are thus open to non members.

27. BLUE CHIP FOUR, FIVE & SIX YEAR OLD FLAT RIDDEN SPORT HORSE This class is a qualifier for the Blue Chip Flat Ridden Sport Horse Championship
To be held at the National Hunter Supreme Championship Show at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Buckinghamshire on 7th September 2011. Horses to be shown on the flat, will not be required to jump. Snaffle bridles must be worn. Note. The favoured discipline e.g. dressage, eventing or show jumping for each exhibit MUST be stated on the entry form. Horses have to be registered with SHB(GB). Horses will not be ridden by the judge but will be required to give a short individual show of walk, trot & canter of approximately 1 minute, to be awarded marks out of a possible 20 for each pace. Lengthened strides in trot and canter must be shown. Marks out of a possible 20 will also be awarded for suitability for the chosen discipline. All horses are required for a conformation assessment to be awarded marks out of a possible 50.
The two highest placed horses will qualify that haven’t already

30. WORKING HUNTER Qualifier for RIHS (To be run under SHB(GB) 2010 rules)
Mare or Gelding 4 years and over ex. 153cm. Grade A Showjumpers & Advanced Eventers as at January of current year, are not eligible to compete. To be judged 60% for jumping performance, 40% as for Hunter Classes. Jumping to be judged 40% for actual jumping and 20% style and presence whilst jumping. Ride and Conformation 40%. There will be a minimum of 8 & maximum of 12 fences at a max. height of 3’9” at the discretion of the Judge/s. 32 SSA EQUITATION CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER – OPEN CLASS
This class is run under SSA rules as defined in the current Member’s Handbook. Open to SSA Members and Non-Members. Members carrying their current Championship Points Cards are eligible for SSA rosettes to 3rd Adult and 3rd Junior places and SSA Championship Points. Side Saddle International offer a rosette to the Adult Member and Manor Grange Stud Show Centre to the Junior Member, judged to be the best turned out.

33 SSA CLASSICAL LADIES HORSE QUALIFYING COMPETITION
Open to SSA Members and Non-Members aged 16 & over on January 1st of the current year. Horses, to be ridden side saddle, exceeding 148cm. Judged by a panel judge from SSA, SHBGB, BSHC&RHA, BSPS, P(UK), on 25% conformation, 25% manners & way of going, 25% rider, 25% turnout of horse & rider. Judge may request a short show, but will not ride exhibits; horses may not be stripped. Traditional habits must be worn. Fancy Dress & Period Costume NOT permitted. N.B. Silk hats are permitted to be worn in this class AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY. Judges may use a mark sheet as a guide, but it is not obligatory. Special Rosette presented to the highest placed Members carrying their current Championship Points Cards. The highest place horse/rider combination qualify for the Final to be held at the National Side Saddle Show at Addington on August 4th – 6th. Qualification may pass down the line to fourth place. To be eligible to compete in the Final riders are required to become a member of the SSA 21 days prior to the National Show.

RIHS BRITISH SKEWBALD & PIEBALD ASSOCIATION RIHS QUALIFIERS Judge: Miss Jane Owen, Hampshire

The following 4 classes are open to Skewbald and Piebald horses/Ponies only. These classes are affiliated to the British Skewbald & Piebald Association and are Qualifiers for the Royal International Horse show at Hickstead 2011. They will be judged under the BSPA Rules, copies of which can be obtained from www.bspaonline.com or 01354 638226
ALL entries in these classes must be registered and owners and riders are members of the BSPA prior to this show. JMB certificates are required for all ponies 153cm and under (except Shetlands). Rider’s age is taken as January 1st of the current year. All Stallions must be graded with BSPA to compete. No rider under the age of 14 may exhibit a stallion in any class.
